Hassan Elsayed is Senior Associate at Meysan and a member of the fi­­rm’s corporate practice. Hassan’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial law. He is specialized in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets matters. He has represented clients on several noteworthy domestic and cross-border high profile transactions. Prior to joining Meysan Partners, Hassan worked for a reputable law firm in Cairo.

  • Represented European Bank for Reconstitution and Development (EBRD), CDC Group and Development Partners International (DPI), a UK-based private equity firm in connection with the acquisition of approximately 100% of the share capital of Adwia Company S.A.E one of the leading pharmaceuticals manufacturers in Egypt.
  • Represented Development Partners International (DPI) in the acquisition of a minority stake in Mashroey and Tasaheel, the leading companies in consumer finance and microfinance, respectively, in Egypt.
  • The acquisition of a majority stake in the leading manufacturer of water supply and drainage pipes solutions in Egypt.
  • Represented Pfizer in connection with the spin-off of its generic pharmaceuticals business (Upjohn) and combining the same with Mylan N.V to form Viatris Inc.
  • Represented Cargill in connection with the 50:50 joint venture with Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) in the National Vegetable Oils Company operating the largest soy crush plant in Egypt with daily crush capacity of 6,000 tonnes.
  • Represented Mansour Automotive Group in connection with the joint venture with Scope Investment LLC in MANSCO Automotive S.A.E the exclusive agent of Peugeot in Egypt.
  • Represented the selling shareholders in connection with the divestment of a majority stake in the share capital of EIMC United Pharmaceuticals S.A.E, one of the leading pharmaceuticals manufacturers in Egypt, to the UK-based Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC.
  • Represented the selling shareholders in connection with the divestment of a majority stake in the share capital of Medco Plast Co., the leading plastic manufacturer in Egypt, to Indorama Ventures PLC, one of the leading producers in the intermediate petrochemicals industry and a global manufacturer of wool yarns in Thailand.
  • Represented Arabian Food Industries Company (Domty), as well as EFG-Hermes, as Joint Global Coordinator, along with Baker & McKenzie in connection with the IPO of Domty.
